Genetic divergence for seed traits in Passiflora full-sib families under recurrent selection for resistance to the cowpea aphid-borne mosaic virus

Investigating the physiological potential of seeds and genetic divergence between families is essential to identify promising materials for generation improved populations. This study was undertaken examine germination estimate Passiflora full-sib (FSFs) based on physical seed traits. The experiment consisted 86 FSFs from first cycle recurrent selection resistance cowpea aphid-borne mosaic virus. Seeds were evaluated 19 Dissimilarity estimates obtained by generalized Mahalanobis distance, method unweighted pair group with arithmetic mean employed cluster formation. showed high vigor, 92.4%, 5.68 e 5.81 cm germination, speed index (GSI) shoot length seedlings, respectively. Cluster analysis resulted in four groups formed, being Group I composed 68 FSF more control edulis. trait 1,000-seed weight (TSW) that most contributed explaining dissimilarity families, 31.9%. GSI (physiological), TSW (physical), as well traits provided GroundEye® system (CIELab-b, hue, circumference seeds), efficient determining detected passion fruit. These can be taken a basis genotypes higher quality.
